Rublev Cyprus Burnt Umber Warm is a semi-transparent reddish-brown earth colour made from natural iron-manganese oxide (Fe2O3·MnO2) sourced from Cyprus. This warm variation keeps the classic umber usefulness but shifts the hue toward richer, redder browns, making it especially valuable for portraits, warm shadows, hair, wood tones, and sunlit earth mixtures.
Ground in linseed oil with no additives, it has a medium-grained body and, like most Rublev Colours Artist Oils, brushes long in the direction of the stroke for controlled, responsive handling. With a fast drying rate, Cyprus Burnt Umber Warm is ideal for underpainting and tonal block-ins where you want a warm earth that sets quickly and supports later layers. Mixed with titanium white, it produces warm cocoa, chestnut, and rosy taupe tints that stay natural rather than chalky.
