Rublev French Raw Sienna is a classic, warm earth colour sourced from the last remaining European producer operating the historic ochre deposits in the Luberon Mountains, France. This natural raw sienna is based on iron oxide hydroxide (goethite, α-FeOOH) and delivers a rich golden-brown tone with a naturally transparent glow that makes it a staple for traditional and contemporary palettes.
French Raw Sienna is semi-transparent with medium tinting strength, making it ideal for glazing, underpainting, and building warm luminous layers without overpowering mixtures. It is especially useful for landscape light, warm skin undertones, natural wood tones, and turning bright colours into believable, earthy neutrals. With titanium white it produces creamy straw, sandstone, and warm beige tints that feel natural rather than chalky.
