Ceracolors Water-Soluble Wax Paint 50ml - S4 Cobalt Blue is a professional beeswax-based paint that combines the luminous optical quality of wax with the ease of water-based painting. Cobalt Blue (PB 28) is a classic "neutral" blue, sitting between Cerulean on the green side and Ultramarine on the red. It is an essential mixing blue for artists who want balanced colour control, clean skies, atmospheric mid-blues, and beautifully muted mixtures. When mixed with cadmium yellow it produces natural, subdued greens that are ideal for landscape work and tonal painting.

Made from pharmaceutical-grade beeswax blended with naturally derived waxes, Ceracolors supports encaustic and wax painting techniques without the need for heated tools, electricity, or specialist equipment. Use it straight from the tube for strong opaque coverage and confident brushwork, or thin it with water for watercolour-like washes, soft transitions, and layered effects. After drying, Ceracolors can also be used in encaustic technique for further sculpting and manipulation of the wax surface.

Ceracolors dries in two stages: it becomes touch-dry quickly as water evaporates, then continues curing as wax crystals coalesce over days or weeks depending on thickness. During the early stage you can reopen areas with a damp brush for blending. Once cured, heat set and fuse using a hair dryer, heat gun, or pastry torch to increase durability and wet scrub resistance and to refine the wax finish.

Best on rigid supports such as wood panels, but also suitable on canvas and paper, and can be applied to ceramics, glass, metal, or plastic. Clean up easily with soap and water, and remove dried paint with household ammonia.
