Ceracolors Water-Soluble Wax Paint 50ml - S4 Cadmium Red Light is a professional beeswax-based paint that delivers brilliant, high-chroma colour with the ease of water-based application. Cadmium Red Light (PR 108) is a bright red with a subtle orange bias, positioned between red and orange on the traditional colour wheel. It is a modern replacement for vermilion, offering even greater saturation and impact, making it ideal for bold highlights, floral painting, warm portrait accents, colour blocking, and vibrant contemporary palettes.

Made from pharmaceutical-grade beeswax blended with naturally derived waxes, Ceracolors enables encaustic and wax painting techniques without needing electricity, heated tools, or specialist equipment. Use it straight from the tube for dense, opaque coverage and sculptable impasto marks, or thin it with water for softer transitions and watercolour-like washes. After drying, the wax surface can be further manipulated and refined, and you can heat set and fuse layers using a hair dryer, heat gun, or pastry torch to increase durability and wet scrub resistance.

Ceracolors dries in two stages: it becomes touch-dry quickly as water evaporates, then continues curing as wax crystals coalesce over days or weeks depending on thickness. During the early stage you can reopen areas with a damp brush for blending. Best on rigid supports such as wood panels, but also suitable on canvas and paper, and can be applied to surfaces like ceramics, glass, metal, or plastic. Clean up easily with soap and water, and remove dried paint with household ammonia.
