Ceracolors Water-Soluble Wax Paint 50ml - S1 Burnt Sienna is a professional beeswax-based paint that delivers the rich optical depth of wax with the convenience of water solubility. Burnt Sienna is a deep reddish-brown with a bright orange-red undertone, perfect for warm underpainting, skin tones, earthy landscapes, terracotta hues, and glowing shadow mixes. It also excels in glazing and wash techniques, creating colour that can be extended easily from strong, saturated passages to delicate transparent veils.

Made from pharmaceutical-grade beeswax blended with naturally derived waxes, Ceracolors supports a wide range of encaustic and wax painting techniques without requiring electricity, heated tools, or specialist equipment. Use it straight from the tube for buttery strokes and buildable texture, or dilute with water for watercolour-like washes, stains, and soft transitions. Ceracolors dries in two stages: it becomes touch-dry quickly as water evaporates, then continues curing as wax crystals coalesce, allowing early layers to be reactivated with a damp brush for blending.

Once cured, you can heat set and fuse the paint with a hair dryer, heat gun, or pastry torch to increase durability and wet scrub resistance, and to further sculpt and refine the wax surface. Best on rigid supports such as wood panels, but also suitable on canvas and paper, and can be used on surfaces like ceramics, glass, metal, or plastic. Clean up easily with soap and water, and remove dried paint with household ammonia.
