Ceracolors Retarder Additive 4oz is a studio essential for artists who want more working time from Ceracolors water-soluble wax paint. Add it to slow the initial drying stage so you can blend longer, paint wet-in-wet, and keep paint workable on the palette with less skinning. It is especially useful in warm conditions, for large passages where you need a consistent wet edge, or when you are building soft transitions and gradual gradients.

This additive is designed to be used in small amounts. Retarder contains propylene glycol, which helps Ceracolors maintain a wet edge and extends open time without changing the wax paint system. It can also be added to Fluid Medium when making your own paint from dry pigments to keep custom mixes open longer.

How to use
Add Retarder drop by drop to Ceracolors paint on the palette or in a container until you reach the open time you want. Do not add excess Retarder or the paint may not dry properly.
