Ceracolors Gel Medium Heavy Body 8oz is a thick, wax-based gel medium made to give Ceracolors water-soluble wax paint serious body for impasto-style painting. Use it to build raised marks, hold brush and palette knife texture, and create dimensional passages that stay rich and waxy once dry. Like all Ceracolors mediums, it acts as a colourless wax paint and binder, forming a continuous, durable film while letting you control viscosity and handling.

Mix Gel Medium directly into Ceracolors paint to thicken the paint and extend it without dropping quality. It can also increase transparency while maintaining a heavy body feel, making it useful for layered texture where you still want light to travel through the wax film. All Ceracolors mediums are compatible across the Ceracolors range, so you can combine Gel with other mediums (such as Fluid Medium) to fine-tune flow versus body.

Gel Medium can also be used as a collage adhesive for porous materials once dry (avoid glass, metal, and plastics), and it can serve as a binder for dry pigments when making your own wax paints.

How to use
Add Gel Medium to paint on the palette or in a container. Use any amount desired to reach your preferred thickness and texture.
