Fluorescent acrylic rods really shine brightly when they are lighted with a black light. The cut surfaces are particularly bright because the rod absorbs the light along its outer surface and radiates it out at the ends. This attribute is responsible for acrylic rods being very often used for decorative purposes (e.g. in advertising displays). The fluorescent rods can also be bent when heated into the shapes of letters. Rods bent in this manner can be used in the creation of jewellery and other decorative applications. Code=515212
